The internet contains many millions of web pages and each of these pages requires interesting and informative content. Although much of this content is written by the website owners, there are many sites that seek contributions from freelance writers, and are willing to pay for them.

One such site is Triond. The articles submitted to Triond, once reviewed by the editing team, are published on a group of partner websites including Bookstove, Picable, Purpleslinky, Quazen, Scienceray, Socyberty, Trifter, Webupon and Writinghood. Having this range of sites available means that articles on similar subjects can be published together. For example, you will find science articles at Scienceray and travel articles at Trifter.

Triond accepts articles on a wide variety of subjects including health, cars, pets, history, society, books, science, computers and many others. If you can think of a subject to write about it will find a home somewhere in their network. Triond also publishes creative writing, so poetry, short stories and chapters from novels are all welcomed. Pictures, audio and video also have their own sites. All submissions must be in the English language and must not have been published before.

Revenue is generated from advertisements displayed alongside the articles. This revenue is shared between the writer and Triond with each receiving half. Once you have published five articles you will have the opportunity of integrating your Triond account with Google Adsense. Earnings are paid monthly as long as you have earned more than $50 if paid by cheque or $0.50 if paid via Paypal. If you don’t reach these thresholds then your earnings roll over to the following month.

If being paid for your writing appeals to you and you would like to join Triond, please follow my referral link and sign up. I will be paid a referral fee by Triond but this does not affect your earnings. If you would rather not use the referral link you can join through the Triond homepage.

The availability of blogging software, and a multitude of sites devoted to online publishing, makes it very easy for anyone to publish their writing on the internet. But it can take a long time to build up a readership. The early days of seeing just a few views for a piece of work that took many hours, or days, to produce can be disheartening for some people.

Many give up at this stage, but I am hoping that the following will encourage a few to carry on. With a little patience, perseverance and some effort put in to the promotion of any published work, a readership will start to build.

Sometimes this buildup can be rapid, as happened this week with my article Why are There 60 Minutes in an Hour? For the first four and a half months of its life it was being read just a few times a day, but in the last couple of days it has received thousands of views.

So remember the three Ps (Patience, Perseverance, Promotion) and read the story of my experience with this article, and the reasons for the surge in readers, at writinghood.com by following the link below.

Triond and the Benefits of Patience
Many people sign up with Triond, post a few articles, watch for a couple of weeks as they only earn a few cents and then leave, disappointed that their efforts have gone unrewarded. But all it takes is a little patience and perseverance (and possibly luck) for those articles to start earning a lot more. I’d like to share the story of one article’s success.
